Undergraduate and Graduate Student Exchange Programs

Students are invited to apply for a Far East learning experience at any one of six universities with which Ball State University cooperates. Undergraduates must hold at least sophomore standing at Ball State University to qualify for a one-semester or one academic year exchange. Undergraduates will be full-time students overseas, and they may be assigned to host families or stay at the campus housing upon arriving in the country.

Aichi University of Education and Tokyo Gakukei University in cooperation with the Ministry of Education in Japan may provide qualified Ball State University students with (1) tuition, (2) a round trip airfare, and (3) stipend of approximately $800.00 per month for the academic year.

Sister institution in Korea will provide Ball State University graduate students (1) a graduate assistantship, for which the host institution pays at least (1) tuition and fee and (2) a stipend of $400 - $600 a month.

Graduate students are expected to pursue a degree and/or teach English to foreign students, but other teaching assignments can be negotiated with host institutions. Graduate students may be assigned host families in the cities where their universities are located.
